The text is from a poem, "Music on Christmas Morning" (1846), by Anne Brontë, sister of Charlotte and Emily Brontë. Anne also wrote the under-appreciated novel, The Tenant of Wildfell Hall (1848). Anne was born in 1820 and died in 1849.
